Anne Eglash

Dr. Eglash has been practicing breastfeeding and lactation medicine alongside family medicine for 30 years. Her dedication to Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine education has been a career-long journey, with board certification serving as her north star. She views breastfeeding and lactation support and management by physicians as a primary means of advancing health equity and social justice through nutritional support, medical care, and sociopolitical advocacy.

Dr. Eglash believes that infants have the right to begin life with optimal nutritional support that provides immune protection, organ maturity, and natural metabolic programming. She also advocates for the rights of parents and families to be supported in lactation to optimize their mental and physical health and prevent chronic disease later in life.

She is energized by the growing interest in the field of breastfeeding and lactation medicine among younger physicians, medical researchers, and physicians in training, and is thrilled to join others in paving the way toward board certification.
